Rubber wood
MAINTENANCE GUIDE
Please read this maintenance guide before using your new rubberwood product to ensure a protected and long-lasting surface.
DAILY MAINTENANCE /
Wipe the table with a lint-free cloth and clean up any spills immediately. Never use strong soap or cleaning agents, as they can dissolve and remove the protective oil from the surface.
If you need to remove dirt or stains, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild soap solution (e.g., dish soap without lemon) and wipe dry immediately with a clean cloth.
Avoid using lemon-based products, alcohol, all-purpose cleaners, or abrasive sponges, as they may damage the surface of the wood.
OILING /
The wood will benefit from being oiled 1–2 times a year.
You can use a wood oil suitable for rubberwood (a general furniture oil or teak oil often works — ask at your local hardware store for guidance).
Clean the wood thoroughly and let it dry completely.
Lightly sand with fine sandpaper (grit 240) if the surface feels dry or rough (optional, but it helps the oil penetrate better).
Apply a thin layer of oil with a lint-free cloth, following the grain of the wood.
Let the oil absorb for 10–15 minutes.
Wipe off any excess oil with a clean, dry cloth. Too much oil can leave a sticky surface.
Let the wood dry completely for 12–24 hours before using it again.
If you’re unsure about the oiling process, consult the retailer where you purchased the oil for further guidance.
PROPER MAINTENANCE IS IMPORTANT /
Wood is a living material. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this can dry out and bleach the wood.
